Ces images, grossi&#232;rement mont&#233;es en boucle, fonctionnent comme une rengaine visuelle incessante et vaine. Le son des ventilateurs et l'air d&#233;plac&#233; cr&#233;ent une impression d'inconfort, le ballon de baudruche (parfois jaune, parfois rouge, parfois orange) virevolte dans tous les sens, devant deux billets verts de 1$ repr&#233;sentant &#224; eux seuls la lamentable r&#233;duction du monde aux.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Et explose parfois.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Ce dispositif, qualifi&#233; par un visiteur de &#171; simple mais efficace &#187;, propose, malgr&#233;, ou gr&#226;ce, a son apparente simplicit&#233; diff&#233;rents approches d'une situation devenue banale : l'exposition m&#233;diatique obsc&#232;ne des douleurs d'hommes, de femmes et d'enfants frapp&#233;s par une catastrophe.
Qu'il s'agisse d'une catastrophe naturelle ou d'une guerre quelconque n'a d'ailleurs pas beaucoup d'importance. Ce qui compte c'est la mani&#232;re dont nous sommes parfois, (souvent) d&#233;poss&#233;d&#233; de l'essentiel de nous-m&#234;mes par ce qui nous d&#233;passe, nous accable, nous d&#233;truit. Et ce d&#233;sastre ne peut plus s'&#233;voquer d&#233;sormais autrement que de mani&#232;re triviale, grossi&#232;re, d&#233;risoire.
Mais il y a autre chose qui fonctionne juste derri&#232;re cette &#171; d&#233;nonciation &#187; de la vulgarit&#233; du monde contemporain.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Nous sommes pris dans une situation qui nous semble &#224; la fois &#233;trang&#232;re - nous ne sommes pas de l&#224;-bas-, et famili&#232;re -, ce dont il est question parle de notre intimit&#233;.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Et c'est sur cette tension entre spectacle m&#233;diatique et myst&#232;res de l'intime que se d&#233;ploie la puissance r&#233;elle de l'installation. Des immeubles s'effondrent emport&#233;s par les d&#233;luges comme parfois des pans entiers de notre &#234;tre s'effondrent silencieusement en nous-m&#234;mes, des drames obscurs affectent nos proches, des terreurs archa&#239;ques, lointaines, enfantines remontent &#224; la surface et nous assaillent &#224; nouveau.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Et nous nous retrouvons &#224; nouveau seuls, passablement d&#233;sempar&#233;s. Avec comme seule bou&#233;e, un ballon de baudruche agile, fragile, insaisissable. Pass&#233; ce moment o&#249; nous demandons encore et pour la milli&#232;me fois si ce qui est devant nous est bien de l'art, et si oui, si l'art est vraiment fait pour cela, pour &#233;branler encore un peu plus l'&#233;difice fragile de nos certitudes du jour, il nous reste &#224; reprendre l'escalier pour remonter, de la cave au rez-de-chauss&#233;e pour tenter de retrouver un ordre du monde praticable.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Pierre Bongiovanni&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h3 class=&quot;spip&quot;&gt;LA PLAGE&lt;/h3&gt;

L'homme du Nord ne veut pas partager sa place, il ne songe qu'&#224; grimper dans la hi&#233;rarchie, dans le niveau de possession. Il est sans t&#234;te, ne pense pas, ne voit pas, n'entend pas, ne dis rien. L'homme du Nord et l'homme du Sud sont obsessionnels, enferm&#233;s dans l'univocit&#233; de leur mouvement, dans un univers horrifique, catastrophique. This kiosk used to be THE meeting place for local young people but now, it has been trashed and abandoned for years. Surprisingly, the asylum seekers were most eager to show us what Kebab should look like, 6 middle aged men spent hours discussing the size of onions and shape of Kebab - they really wanted their culture to be visible. One by one, the young children also picked up the paint brush and started to draw what a hamburger could be. They were shy in the beginning but soon got excited with the colourful expression. Passing by teenagers also became curious, at the end they were very involved with the decoration, even climbed up to the roof to help us.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;In less than 14 hours, we had different groups of people mixed and worked together. Normally, they would not talk to each other. In fact, most locals ignored the asylum seekers whenever possible. Somehow through this simple art practice, they were together and open to each other. It was brief but it was real.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This project is accomplished during the Tomma Rum artist residency program in 2008.
