Sunday 21 June 2009, by
Our first Kunst Apotheke Salon launched on 11.06.2009 with the following programme:
Marzia Pistolesi - project manager/project writer - Italy
27 Pinguine involves 27 young participants from Germany, Turkey, and France to participate in the 2009 Karneval der Kulturen. Marzia Pistolesi, project manager, presented her reflections on how art was being used as a hook to promote ’interculturality’ among participants with different cultural background in this project.
Elena Veljanovska - curator/ founder of Line Initiative and Movement - Skopje
My Sunshine is a Utopian project by Nikola Uzunovski. It aims to produce a flying object that reflects sunlight to areas around the Arctic Circle in order to appear as the Sun itself. This project is presented in the Macedonian pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennial which just opened on 07.06.09. Elena Veljanovska, co-curator of the Macedonian pavilion, shared the challenges her team is facing after the Venice Biennial presentation.
N.A.T.P.L.E. - A Lawn for One Month
Giacomo Zaganelli - designer - Florence/Berlin
The N.A.T.P.L.E. aimed to revitalize a forgotten square, Piazza Ghiberti, in the centre of Florence, through the installation of 2000 square meters of real grass. Social designer, Giacomo Zaganelli, discussed his concept for this work - N.A.P.T.L.E. is not an artwork to observe, but a symbol of simplicity and nature.
Special thanks to Thomas Pigache, otherwise, we will not have delicious wholesome soup and fresh cold beer to further our critical debates and network. Here is the aftertalk in regards to this shared experience of Kunst Apotheke Salon.
